Our Bags are Packed, We're Ready to Go...

I think we are about to the end of what pre-planning we can do. All the "assembly required" things are all put together, clothes and linens are washed, stuff is ready to be scooped up to take to the hospital, and Sarah Katherine should be pretty much done baking! When we go into the doctor next week she said we could schedule an induction during the 39th week sometime (the week of September 8). So, we'll keep you posted on when the big day will be. I'm not having any inklings that she's going to come any earlier, but you never know!

As you can see, the belly has definitely filled out. Sarah Katherine is growing and moving well!

Can you guess what was rated best on consumer reports for infant items?!?! We got all Fisher Price Rainforest stuff we could find. I hope Sarah Katherine likes / grows to like the sounds of nature! Didn't David do a great job with assemly?!

Here is our dining room table - AKA hospital staging area. Everything going with us in on this table so all David has to do is grab it and get on the road.

The Nursery

Well, we have the nursery MOSTLY ready. All the necessities are in place (and clean!). We are still working on some decorative touches, but we do have some time before she even gets in that room (she'll be in a bassinet in our room for the first little while), so we aren't stressing too much. We went totally outside the box and didn't get pink or purple (I know - shocking!). You can see the bedding up close at Target.com (Tiny Red Dragonfly is the pattern).

Here is the crib. It's convertible so it will turn in to a double bed and a nightstand when we no longer need a crib and a changing table!

This rocking chair used to be my great-grandmother's. I recovered and now it's one of my favorite things in the nursery.

Here is her dresser, filled with stuff (and that's just the things that are up to 3 months!). You can also see, she is not lacking in toys either. And as with the Coram household she has a TV in her room - don't worry, cable isn't hooked up here ... yet.

This is her closet, full of fun, frilly, girly stuff - I love it! We also have what seems to me to be a lot of diapers, but I think I will learn quickly that they won't last nearly as long as I'm thinking.

Brunch at the Red Owl Plantation

Some dear, dear family friends through a brunch in honor of Sarah Katherine at their restaurant - the Red Owl Plantation in Dothan. (PS - if anyone happens through Dothan you MUST go there, it's the very best food EVER!). Everything was BEAUTIFULLY decorated, and we were even served by the wait staff 3 courses of delicious food. It was such a great time to get together with my friends from home that I don't get to see very often. Thanks SO VERY MUCH to Ann and Ozzie Judah and to LeAnn (Judah) McLendon - I love you guys!

Sunday School Class Shower

My super sweet ladies from our Sunday school class here at FBC Pelham threw Sarah Katherine a shindig. The food and company was GREAT! My grandmother and great aunt also got to come over from Anniston which was so wonderful. We are so blessed to have so many fabulous friends and to know that Sarah Katherine will grow up in church with this great group. Thank you ladies!!!

Back to the Doc

I had another doctor's appointment this week, and we now start weekly appointments. I can't believe it's already that time!!! Sarah Katherine's heartbeat was in the 140's and she has been quite active in my belly recently. I'm pretty sure she's still turned head up, but my doctor said we can check that on an ultrasound in two weeks (YEAH another ultrasound! I love getting those - any excuse to peek at the baby and I'm all for it!). I'm not very good at the guess where the baby is game, so I could definitely be wrong and she may have flipped - we'll see soon enough.

Also starting next week I am not allowed to travel anymore. :( Maybe that will force me to finish up the final details that I need to before Sarah Katherine makes her appearance. We are working on getting everything sorted and ready for the baby, and man is it tough to think about what will she need, what won't she need, etc. We're also working on decorative touches in the nursery, so when that is all decked out I'll post some pictures.

SoCo Baby Shower

Here are some pictures of the fabulous shower some wonderful ladies from work threw for me and Danica Connell (Danica and I work in the same group, and we are due 2 weeks apart). Like a goober, I forgot to take a pic with the hostesses, but thanks so much to you all!!! Danica and I got a great start to getting ready for the girls, and both of us were blessed to have our in-law's able to come. (PS - it is apple juice that is in the bottle!)
