9 Month Check Up

Even though it was a month late, we went for Charlotte Anne's 9 month check up last month.  Poor little blessed girl had to get 5 shots and it turned out an ear infection we thought was gone was still hanging on.  After this visit we went to an ENT and it turns out both Sarah Katherine and Charlotte Anne will be getting tubes.  Our little one is still bitsy, but she is growing and "staying on her curve" even if it is one of the lower ones!

St. Patty's Day 2013

Any excuse to dress festive makes mommy happy, and St. Patty's day is no exception at our house!  This year happened to fall on a Sunday which made the option of dressing up in green even more fun. :)  So, happy St. Pat's day to all my fellow Irish folks - we tried to commemorate the occasion the best we could (on a Sunday, with children - so that means just flashing our green!).

Little bit also celebrated by getting in the swing for the first time.  Miss Priss LOVED it and bounced around while I pushed her.  We are going to have to get an infant swing for our set in the back yard - I see lots of outside time in our future with this girl, it makes her happy any time to are outdoors.

Addison't 5th Birthday at the Farm!

Some friends from church were having a birthday party for their little girl Addison and Sarah Katherine was invited to come to the Farm party.  It was so super cute - horse riding, hay ride, stick horse race, and all on a beautiful day!  Sarah Katherine was not at all impressed with the horses at first.  She didn't want to be near them, but as she watched her friends she inched closer and closer and finally after everyone else had ridden twice she decided to try it out.  Once she got up on the horse she loved it!  I am so proud of my girl working through it and riding that horse (not pony - horse!).

Mommy's Attempt at Photography

We had set up a time to take family pictures with a friend from work over a weekend, so I thought for days about the appropriate outfits and color schemes, looked up poses on pinterest, thought about places to hang these fabulous photo's - and then the morning we were 30 minutes from leaving to go meet my friend David's hotel had an emergency and he had to go to Tuscaloosa.  So, I called my friend and we are working on rescheduling, but when I told Sarah Katherine we weren't going to take pictures that day (and she was already fully dressed) she started crying (like pitiful crying, not the whiny kind).  So, mommy loaded everyone up and we went to Aldridge Gardens in Hoover.  It was 9am, so we pretty much had the place to ourselves and it was a GORGEOUS day!  I am fully aware I am not a "real" photographer, but I was excited to get a few good shots of my little ladies.  Plus, I had to capture the fact that I found perfectly coordinated outfit for them that were weather / season appropriate - that just doesn't happen by itself!  :)

Beach Trip

The third weekend of February we took a trip to the beach as a little get away and remembrance trip for Elizabeth Anne.  Our baby girl has been in heaven for 2 years now, and I can't believe how quickly time has passed.  It still can seem like just yesterday that we lost her, but other times it seems like a lifetime ago.  We are truly blessed beyond measure with what God has bestowed on us - two happy and healthy girls, loving and caring friends, supportive family, and especially the knowledge that Christ will carry us through ALL circumstances in life.  We miss our baby girl unbelievably, but I am finally starting to look forward in anticipation of spending eternity together and not just feeling the loss of her not being physically with us.

As a typical Coram family trip, it was eventful.  We discovered little Charlotte Anne is allergic to penicillin after she got sick two times in her car seat.  Also, both girls had ear infections and apparently the pressure on SK's ears made her not feel great on the dolphin cruise.  And to round it out, David tapped a BMW with our car as he was pulling out of a parking lot.  Never a dull moment even when we are "getting away".  As with everything else, we just deal with the situation and move forward.  No sense in getting too worked up, something else is always around the corner. :)  Even through all our traumas it was a nice weekend at the beach and we stayed a friends' fabulous condo that we plan on returning to and will hopefully have a less eventful trip next time!
