Curious Little Girl

Here is our little one doing one thing she LOVES the most these days - pulling stuff out of the cabinets! She thinks it is just hilarious to stand in front of the cabinets, strow stuff all over the room, and do a little victory dance!!! We have finally put up the baby locks on most of the kitchen, but I did leave her a few spots open so she could still enjoy the fun of making a mess.

We've had a fun few weeks: we got free tickets to Alabama Adventure (where SK slept for about 2 hours, but then woke up in time to play in the kids swimming pool), she came with us to the drive in (where she usually zonks out before the movie starts, but this time she decided that G-Force was a fun enough movie to stay up and watch), and we went to a block party that our church threw at the local elementary school.

Now we are starting to plan for the big first birthday party (I can't believe it just a little over a month away!!). I am finishing up her baby book and printing off pictures from this past year - my girl is growing up so much! I'm doing my best not to sob whenever I think about how much she's growing :) (I know - gushy mom, quit it!)

God Made the Animals

A few weeks ago our preschool department at church had an outing to the Oak Mountain petting zoo to celebrate that God Made the Animals. Well, you know if there are animals involved - Sarah Katherine is there and giggling! She of course loved being able to pet the animals, and I even let her "ride" the miniature horse.

Another Spend the Night Party for SK!

For our anniversary, Sarah Katherine went to play with my friend Lisa for the evening so that David and I could enjoy a night out together. It sounds like she had a GREAT time over there! First, she got to help Lisa at work for a bit (and of course in the process got to flirt with the guys at work - she's a huge ham!). Then when they got to the house, Sarah Katherine had a big Golden Retriever to play with! She chased poor Sierra around most all night, but it looks like the puppy wasn't too scarred (check out the picture below of them! - I love it!). In the morning Sarah Katherine got to go meet Lisa's niece and have some girl play time, the princesses had a lot of fun together!

Happy (Early) Anniversary to Me!

Well, I got a surprise at work today as an early anniversary present! Flowers with a card that says "thank you for all you do". Maybe I only have to give David a small pinch now for leaving me with the crazy sickness this week while he was out of town. :) Seriously though I cannot believe tomorrow will be 6 years since we were married (and scarier than that - almost 14 since we started dating)!!! Time flies when you are having fun together. I am so blessed to be married to my best friend, a wonderful father, and a Godly man. I love you!!!

Also, thanks so much to "Aunt Lisa" for watching SK tonight for us to go out. Since we don't have family in town, we are super blessed with great friends to help us out - THANK YOU!

David is Two for Two...

Well, we have had an eventful couple of days - David left on Tuesday to go out of town for business, so it's just been me to take care of the girls (SK and the puppies). A brief reminder of David's last trip - SK got an ear infection, sinus infection, and hand foot and mouth. True to form, I had just hung up the phone with David telling me he had made it to the rental car place when the day care called saying SK was sick. I first thought it was just her adjusting to something new we fed her because she was acting ok, so we went on to dinner at Brio with a friend of mine that was in town. Sure enough - SK yacked all over me right in the middle of the fancy restaurant (that will be a memory for the ages!). So, my poor baby was sick that night and into the next day. She even shared her stomach bug with me, so I had to figure out how to not pass out carrying the baby girl b/c I was so weak. Thank GOODNESS it was just a 24 hour thing and we are both all better - again just in time for David to come home and miss out on all the fun. My husband owes me super big!!!

Compliments of Granddaddy...

This weekend my parents came up to visit to celebrate the 4th of July as well as their 33rd anniversary. We had a really good weekend, and Sarah Katherine LOVED seeing her family! My dad is a videographer in Dothan, and he brought his camera with him this weekend. This is from just a couple of days, I don't even want to think about special occasions what he might break out. I couldn't talk for like 5 minutes after watching this, but I guess I'm just a gushy mommy now! My girl is growing up so quickly, I'm so glad we have things like this though to remember our precious baby girl when she was little and wobbly.
