We have made it to the second week already! Time is flying, Sarah Katherine will be driving before we know it. :) So far, Sarah Katherine is continuing to be a GREAT baby. She is still sleeping about 5 - 6 hours a night (with just one or two nights as an exception, but she got right back in her schedule). We were sad to see Grandmom go home earlier this week, but Sarah Katherine and I are having fun together during the day while Dad is at work. We have gone on a stroll - which she loves - and we sit out on the back porch and read (Mom) / nap (Sarah Katherine). We haven't been able to venture far from home yet because I wasn't allowed to drive for two weeks after the birth, and the Pilot is in the shop. Maybe we'll get the car back next week and we can see how well Mom and baby do with field trips. We did get out and about today though for Sarah Katherine's first trip since David was off work. We went up to church and met people, then to McAlister's for lunch, then to Michael's for some craft projects for mom, and finally to Oak Mountain State Park for some pictures. I am pretty sure the car lulls her off to sleep because she slept for most of the outing. Luckily we did get some awake time for the pictures!

One Week Old
Well, we have passed the one week mark for parenthood. Sarah Katherine is doing great and has totally won us over!!! We are still having a great time hanging out with Grandmom, and are not looking forward to her going home. :( We will make it though, just maybe the house won't be quite so straight and mom may not be quite so rested. Here are some pic's of her all decked out in another fancy dress - you just have to!! Believe it or not, this dress is over 50 years old - it was Erin's dad's and then hers growing up.

Sarah Katherine's First Auburn Game
Well, we have reached a milestone already - Sarah Katherine's first Auburn game. She of course got all dressed up and ready for the game! She even sat up in her boppy to check everything out. Of course mom didn't realize we needed a picture until she had tuckered herself out. So just pretend you see this little cutie cheering a big War Eagle! ;)

More Pic's of the Little Lady
We have made it home, everyone with a good report. My parents are staying with us for a while, so the kitchen is getting quite the workout (it is being used more than ever since we moved in - thanks mom!!!). Good news on the sleeping front - surprisingly enough, Sarah Katherine already knows the value of her beauty sleep. She has slept through the night since she was born. Hopefully she's not just teasing us and will switch that up in a few days - we'll see! Here are some more picutres of Sarah Katherine, that show more of what a cutie she really is.
Here she is ready for her formal picture debut! Notice her pearl bracelet (she is my daughter after all!)

Welcome to the World Sarah Katherine
We are so proud to announce the birth of our daughter! She was born September 9 at 1:24 PM. We weighed in at 7lbs 3 oz. and is 21 1/4" long. Both mom and baby are doing well, and we should be going home tomorrow. I guess it will all be real then, I can't believe we are now mom and dad! Here are a couple of pictures, I'll post some more in the next couple of days that will show her off a little more.

Countdown has Begun...
I went in to the doctor this morning, and she wants us to come in tonight at 8pm. Apparently I am not progressing too much, so we are going to come on in to try and get things moving along. Hopefully all will go well, and once the ball gets to rolling it will speed right along to an easy delivery (look at me - optomistic and everything!). It's crazy to think that the next post will be pictures of my daughter!

We have a date...
We went to the doctor yesterday and we scheduled an induction for next Tuesday, September 9! I guess I have known this day has been coming, but OH MY GOSH - we are going to have a baby!!! I had a minor freak out moment, but I am calming down. Since I am such a planner, the unknown is quite an experience for me. :) I will go into the doctor on Monday morning and she may go ahead and admit me Monday night, but the real party will start Tuesday morning. The doctor did say that she thinks little miss Sarah Katherine may not be so little at all. While she didn't say she's big, the doc thinks she is definitely long! Amazon baby!! She is probably taking after her namesake - my grandmother who is taller than me. We'll see soon enough. Please keep us in your prayers as this big journey is about to begin.
