Drumroll Please - Great Santa Pic 2010

And now the final Santa experience of 2010 for my child. Santa came to school this year, and all the boys and girls were allowed to go and sit with him and even get their picture made. Well, from the previous posts you can imagine how SK's turn went - she cried and wouldn't even go near him. Well, after nap time they hung up a green screen and took her picture by herself and then photoshopped the picture below. I know it's bending the truth, but at least it's a super cute picture! Thank you technology!!!

Connell Kid's Christmas 2010

Just like last year our buddies the Connells put on a great Christmas party for kiddos. Sarah Katherine got to play with her friends as well as eat hot dogs, bounce in the jump-jump, and yes - even see Santa again (I am going to wear her down eventually)! The whole time we were having dinner Sarah Katherine was trying to climb out and head upstairs, because the girl knows what fun stuff is upstairs at the Connell house! After dinner we went to the play room where Christmas music was playing so the kids could dance, the jump-jump was blown up, and the rocking horse was a rockin'. After some play time, we all went downstairs because Santa had landed and was coming to see the kids. SK was all into gathering with everyone to look out the door - until she caught sight of the man in red. From then on she was glued to my hip. I did take her over to speak to Santa a bit and she smiled super big when Santa gave her a coloring book.

Yes, that is my daughter with the crazed look in her eye that only a jump-jump can bring!

Don't you love this look of - why did you make me talk to that man, but don't even think about taking my book away from me!

Polar Express 2010

So, you would think we could take a hint after SK's less than fabulous Santa experience at the mall, but mommy wanted to check out the Polar Express that is just south of town. We went with some friends I went to college with as well as their kiddos - all the kids had on the their jammies, we sang carols on the train, we all at cookies and chocolate milk, and everyone got a sleigh bell because we believe! The train took us out to the "North Pole" where there were lights set up and Santa and Mrs. Claus even came on the train. As you can expect Miss Sarah Katherine was not a fan of the meet and greet portion, but everything else was great.

Thanksgiving 2010

This Thankgiving was spent up in Clarksville, TN with David's family. We had a great time - visiting with the fam, eating yummy food, and even watching Auburn win the Iron Bowl on the big screen. :) I got to go with my sis-in-law to see Harry Potter, which meant I didn't have to go with David and spend half the time explaining what's going on - thanks Becca! We missed David's sister and her family who are over in Germany, but we did give them a call on Thanksgiving day to wish them a very happy day.

David's mom has started dabbling in photography, and we asked her to take some pictures while we were up there. She did a great job, and below are some of the pictures she took.

First Santa Visit of 2010

Before Thanksgiving we took the chance to go see Santa at the mall and beat the heavy traffic. We got Sarah Katherine looking super cute, talked up how great Santa was, and we even happened to be there on pet day so she got to see LOTS of doggies. Apparently all of that is just not quite enough to make Santa fun to my 2 year old. She would NOT sit by herself with him, but she did stay next to him as long as David stayed with her. She was scared the whole time except when he went to giver her the "present" from Santa. Then she perked up and told him Thank You.
