Auburn Homecoming

This year we got cheap tickets to Auburn's Homecoming - with parking pass!  So, we got all decked out and loaded SK up for her second Auburn game.  We were all super excited and hoping we could see Auburn's second big win of the season (so sad!).  

Since it was Homecoming we got to see the crowning of the Homecoming Queen and also the floats that different student organizations made.  These things were made with chicken wire and tissue paper - man, some people are talented!  Charlotte Anne isn't quite big enough yet, but in a few years she'll be in that little cheerleader outfit saying War Eagle too. :)

6 months old!

Charlotte Anne was 6 months old October 20!  I can't believe how fast time has flown and our baby is creeping out of the "baby" stage.  We took her for her check up and although it was super sad for her to get 5 big shots, we were very excited about her statistics.  (Remember this baby was 5 weeks early.)

Height: 95th percentile 

Weight: 25th percentile

(I can't remember the numbers, I'll look in her book and revise the post later)

Girl friend is growing up!  Now that she has come to accept food, I think she will be a bit higher on the scale for weight next visit.  

The picture below is a face I have seen since this little lady was born!  At first it broke my heart and I would hold her and snuggle her immediately.  I have since figured out she is totally working me and I now laugh and take a picture!  She is going to be one to watch as she gets older, this face could do a number on us!!!

Halloween

Halloween festivities kicked off this year with the Fall Festival at our church.  Our two little princesses were all bundled up and ready to go have a blast.  Unfortunately SK's frilly costume made her unable to to the inflatables, so we will have to make a mental note for next year to be sure pants are an option.  We had lots of fun seeing our friends, getting candy, playing games, and shivering together in the corner (it was COLD).  

Halloween night kicked off with me hurrying home to get the girls from school and then get them all princessed up and ready to roll.  Our first stop was to see our good buds the Connells!  SK and Daniley have trick or treated together ever since they could first walk.  The girls had lots of fun running up and down the street for the goods and playing at Daniley's grandmommy's house that is so super Halloween cute that she was on the news that night!

Here is our next generation of candy grabbers!  Daniley has a baby sister and baby cousin, so Charlotte Anne fit right in with the bitsy crew.  We are going to have our hands full next year!

After the Connell's we were off to the Mahon's where they set up a firepit in the driveway for the men-folk to stay and pass out candy while the ladies grabbed the kiddo's and when around the ENTIRE neighborhood.  Yes, my little princess in dress shoes walked about a mile that night but she was a total trooper!  Their neighborhood is Halloween crazy - we saw UFO's in yards, one house that gave out full size candy bars, and even another house that had lights and music all set up to be Halloween themed.  

We finally made it home after 9pm and Charlotte Anne was pooped!  Sarah Katherine on the other hand was amped, check out her haul!!!

The "Real" Pumpkin Patch!

A few weeks after the fiasco with SK's class trip to the pumpkin patch, we went to the "real" pumpkin patch with our Sunday School class.  We had so much fun - hayride, pumpkin pickin', listening to music, animals, wild west and civil war re-enactments, and yes even mini-zip lining for SK!  The only thing missing was the fried pie truck that used to come to the pumpkin patch, we are going to have a write a letter and get them back. :)

 Yes, that is SK eating a SNOWCONE when it is 40 degrees outside.  Guess who signed off in that while mommy was occupied feeding Charlotte Anne?!

SK and Emma climbed to the top of the hay mountain!  I remember when these girls came to the pumpkin patch and couldn't even stand and now they are climbing the mountain - sniff, sniff!

Pumpkin Patch with SK's School

Sarah Katherine is now old enough to go on the big school field trip to the "Pumkin Patch".  They had a sign for parents to sign up if they were going with their kids and of course EVERY parent is going.  I had a meeting at the plant that day that I needed to at least set up for, so I thought this was a great opportunity to take SK with me to the plant, set up quickly, and then drive the just 8 miles over to the pumpkin patch.  Well, the morning started off good - SK was super excited to go with mommy to work and then go see her friends - so much fun in one day!

Once we got the plant she wasn't quite as excited because a power plant is BIG.  She was a bit scared of it all, but she took it all in and now knows where mommy goes when I go to the plant.

Then it was off to the "Pumpkin Patch". I put this in quotes because that was what was on every sheet of paper I received talking about their field trip.  The "Pumpkin Patch" I know about is in Harpersville and super close to the plant.  We went and waited, and waited, and waited and her school's buses never arrived.  I finally called back to the school and it turns out there is a different "Pumpkin Patch" in Clanton - 40 minutes away!!!  So, mommy composed herself and jumped in the car for Clanton.  I was about to have a meltdown but SK was super cool, even took a nap on the way.  We made it in time to get a pumpkin, take pictures, and eat lunch - whew!  Needless to say, mommy learned a great life lesson for the day - there is a pumpkin patch in Clanton!
