Christmas 2010

We had a GREAT Christmas this year! We stuck with our tradition of doing Christmas Eve and Christmas morning at our house, then we packed up and headed out to Dothan for Christmas day. Since SK was bigger this year, we got to do a few more "Christmas-y" things - like baking cookies! It was so fun - she helped cut out the shapes from the dough then she decorated all by herself with the sprinkles. We left them out for Santa with a note and he ate all but one bite and even wrote her a note back!

On Christmas Eve night we went to the candlelight service at church, which for the 2nd year in a row we haven't quite made it all the way to the candlelight part. :) Sarah Katherine was really very good for a 2 year old - she had snacks, colored, and squeezed her stuffed dog, but after an hour it was time to go ahead and head out before she lost it. So, we headed home and chowed on our home made potato soup, read the Christmas story, and opened presents! The little princess got lots of girly things and had a great time!
Then it was sleepy time for all so that Santa could come and bring all the goodies! This year SK got a stocking of "real" candy (chocolate and everything), some small goodies in her stocking, and a big girl room complete with a big girl bed! You would think with all the excitement of a new room that would be her favorite gift, but no - the very favorite was a Disney Princess toy camera that she used ALL weekend. I'm glad it's the little things in life she enjoys. :)
After enjoying her goodies for a bit and eating breakfast we headed out to Dothan to celebrate with my family. Surprise, surprise - SK had even MORE goodies waiting for her from Mimommy and Granddaddy! She even let her Great Granddaddy help her open her presents. She got some clothes, jewelry, a baby in a purse, and even a playhouse. What a haul!
