9 month Check Up

We went to the doc last week and got little bit's stats:
Height - 28" (80%)
Weight - 18lbs, 3oz (50%)
Head - 90%
The doctor said she was tracking just right. He also double checked that her ear infection from a few weeks ago was gone, and she got a clean bill of health. She did have to get two shots, but right after I gave her my bracelet to play with so all was well with the world. Our next visit will be for her 12 month check up which will be right after her birthday (not the best present in the world).

Belated Father's Day

A very happy belated Father's Day to my hubby! We had a great Father's day - Sarah Katherine made daddy a craft with her footprint and a poem to go along with it and we also got him some frames with pictures of his whole family to go on his desk at work (this of course includes the puppies, since he is their daddy too!). We celebrated by having one of David's favorite meals - Mexican Chef Salad. He knew he could only get this one on Father's Day or his birthday, so he pulled is "I'm important today so you got to" card! (This salad involves hamburger meat, kidney beans, french dressing, and fritos - not my idea of a perfect combination, but it was his day.) You can't tell from my shoddy camera work, but SK love jumping up on David's shoulders and being the tallest one of all. She was jumping up and down and just a giggling but my stinky camera missed the fun stuff - boo!

So a special note to my sweet hubby in honor of Father's Day - thanks for being an awesome father to our child, a wonderful husband to me, and a Godly example to our household. I love you lots, and I am so thankful for our first Father's Day celebration!

Weekend at the Aquarium

This past weekend we took Sarah Katherine to the Georgia Aquarium. We have seen how much she LOVES animals from her zoo classes, so we figured fish would be just as fun! Sure enough, the fishies were mighty exciting, she just couldn't figure out why she wasn't able to grab them when they were right in front of her face! :) Needless to say, it was a long, fun day and we will definitely be back!

The Coram Clan

A few weeks ago we took a big family photo of ALL of David's side of the family. I think this one turned out really good considering there are 5 kiddo's 4 and under in there - kudos to the photographer! David's youngest sister is still in high school, so there's no telling how big this fam will be when all the kids are done having kids. (Can you tell the volume of people still amazes me, I'm a small family girl.) :)

Fun we have on "sick" days...

Well, Sarah Katherine has gotten her first official sickness. The daycare called on Monday saying she was running a fever and their policy is we need either a doctor's not that she isn't contageous or she has to be fever free for 24 hours before she can go back. So, that meant some mommy-daughter time since daddy is out of town. Well, we went to the doc on Tuesday and she has an ear infection and a sinus infection. She was pretty pitiful yesterday and pretty much was held, slept, and took her medicine. Well, today she is feeling just dandy but we have to wait for her to be fever free before going back to school, so it's been an interesting day!

I changed a dirty diaper while on a conference call with work, let Sarah Katherine help me type up some emails to send out, and then we did some fun stuff for her. Since she had a rough couple of days I let her have a cookie that my friend Lisa gave her. She has a blast eating them, but they are SO messy. As you can see she sucked down every last bit...

Then we were playing in the office and SK found some Marti Gras beads my friend Leigh gave us and has not put them down. She's drug them all across the house, and that's pretty tough when you have to use your hands to crawl! The combine all things fun for her now - they are shiny, make fun noise when she bangs them on the floor, and they are jewelry. Can it get any better?!

Notes on Daycare...

So apparently Daycare is quite adventurous in what foods they give the kiddos. I saw on the pre-printed menu that pop tarts and pizza were going to be served, but I had no idea this would be an option for the little ones. Well, Sarah Katherine will apparently down whatever she is given and scarfed all sorts of things this past week at daycare. So, now I'm a veteran mom and know to be sure and check the menu before saying - "oh just give her whatever you guys are serving for lunch and breakfast"! :)

Other than the exciting foods, SK had a really good first week at Daycare. By the end of the week she had slipped into a better nap schedule and got great reports from her teachers. She has even decided to start trying to pull up on stuff at home - something I'm sure she learned from a buddy at school!

Splish Splash

Now that we FINALLY have a weekend without torrential rain, we were able to venture out and about this weekend. Saturday Sarah Katherine was introduced to the wonderful world of swimming! She wasn't super excited about it at first, but once she got used to the water she loaded up in her float and kicked and splashed around. After about an hour she had enough (and sadly that was when I finally started to try taking her picture, so that's why she's throwing a fit in the pic below - Mom has got to work on timing!). It was super fun hanging with our buddies and cooling off in the pool!
